There is power in recovery.
A widespread challenge.
Addiction is a serious challenge in Alberta — touching individuals, families, workplaces, and communities alike.
It affects one in five adults in the province and contributes to billions in healthcare costs, law enforcement, lost productivity, family breakdown, homelessness, crime, and mental health struggles.
But the real cost isn’t just economic — it’s the loss of potential, dignity, and hope for those struggling and those who love them.
A Proven Path to Lifelong Recovery
At Oxford House, we believe recovery is possible, sustainable, and life altering.
For 30+ years, we’ve supported men and women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction through safe, affordable sober living homes and supportive residential environments.
Oxford Houses are more than places to stay — they are communities where accountability, peer support, and empowerment help residents rebuild confidence, life skills, and stability.
Evidence‑Based, Peer‑Supported Recovery
Our homes use a research‑supported model of peer support where residents take responsibility for daily life and recovery, fostering coping skills, positive networks, and long‑term recovery.
Empowerment Through Community
Residents actively participate in democratic, self‑run environments that build self‑esteem, leadership skills, and accountability — all essential for sustained recovery.
Affordable, Stable Housing
Unlike costly treatment programs, Oxford House provides affordable post-treatment housing with no set end dates, giving people the time and structure they need to create lasting change.
Proven Long‑Term Success
Research shows that Oxford House residents experience lower relapse rates, greater confidence, and improved financial stability compared to individuals without structured recovery support.
A stable home reduces the risk of returning to harmful environments or becoming homeless, filling a major gap in addiction services across Alberta.
Your Support Changes Lives
Oxford House operates as a registered Canadian charity, and every donation directly fuels recovery and transformation.
A contribution of $135/month covers a resident’s full month of safe housing and community support. Smaller monthly gifts — such as $31.50 for a week or $4.50/day — also make a meaningful difference.
Your generosity helps ensure that people in recovery:
Have a safe, sober space to live and grow
Build life skills for independence
Stay connected to supportive peers and staff
Gain confidence and resilience for long‑term recovery
Together, we give people a second chance at life — and it starts one home at a time.
